Indian journalist Ajai Shukla has raised allegations about the political motives surrounding the Pahalgam attack, questioning the Indian government’s handling of the incident and the narrative subsequently directed at Pakistan.
According to the report Shukla ,Pahalgam incident was linked to political interests involving the Narendra Modi government. He claimed that several Indian political figures and critics had previously questioned the government’s role and demanded greater transparency over the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The allegations remain disputed and have not been independently established.
Critics Question Government’s Role
Shukla reportedly claimed that the incident was connected to plans involving land and a hotel project allegedly linked to the family of Indian Home Minister Amit Shah. These claims were presented as allegations rather than established findings.
The report also cited former Gujarat politician Shankersinh Vaghela, who has previously made allegations against the Modi government in connection with violence in Gujarat.
It further said that voices from Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir had questioned the official narrative surrounding the Pahalgam incident and described it as a possible organized conspiracy.
Previous Criticism of Pahalgam Narrative
The report cited security analyst Dr Ajai Sahni as having previously described the Pahalgam incident as a planned operation. It also referred to former Jammu and Kashmir governor Satya Pal Malik, who criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s handling of the issue and called for political accountability.
Former Indian legislator Vijay Tiwari was also cited as having questioned the government’s role in the attack.
Indian singer Neha Singh Rathore separately criticized the BJP government, questioning why major terrorist incidents had occurred during its tenure and accusing the government of using the Pakistan narrative to divert attention from domestic issues.
The competing claims and allegations surrounding the Pahalgam attack remain politically contentious, underscoring the importance of independent investigations and verifiable evidence when assessing responsibility for the incident.
