ISLAMABAD — Air University (AU) Islamabad marked a significant milestone on Friday as it hosted its 13th Convocation at the main campus auditorium, awarding degrees to 1,585 graduates. The ceremony was attended by Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training and Acting Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, who served as chief guest.
The graduating batch included 42 PhD scholars, 42 gold medalists, and 26 silver medalists, making it a moment of pride and celebration for students, parents, and faculty members.
Vice Chancellor Highlights AU’s Leadership in AI, Cybersecurity, and Computing
Vice Chancellor Air Marshal Abdul Moeed Khan, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (M) (Retd.), congratulated the graduates in his address, commending their academic excellence and resilience. He highlighted Air University’s rising global standing, attributing its progress to quality education, a highly qualified faculty, and industry-relevant programs.
He noted that AU has emerged as a national leader in computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, producing experts who are significantly contributing to the country—particularly within the defence sector. The Vice Chancellor also recognized the achievements of faculties including engineering, basic and applied sciences, social sciences, strategic studies, and management sciences.
Expansion Milestones: New Campus at Shorkot Cantt Announced by Air University
Sharing the university’s expansion milestones, he announced that Air University now operates six active campuses across the country, including Islamabad, Multan, Kamra, Kharian, and Karachi. He also revealed plans for a new campus at Shorkot Cantt, supported by the Pakistan Air Force, with land and infrastructure already allocated.
While expressing gratitude to parents for their trust, the Vice Chancellor reminded graduates that they remain lifelong members of the Air University fraternity. He urged them to stay connected and contribute professionally, academically, or through mentorship, upholding the university’s values and serving society with distinction.

Chief guest Mr. Nadeem Mahbub congratulated the graduates and appreciated Air University’s leadership and faculty for fostering a high-quality learning environment.
