ISLAMABAD, Sunday, September 20, 2026: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will bring together national and international educationists, researchers and experts for its 9th International Conference on Research and Practices in Education, scheduled to begin in Islamabad on September 22.

The two-day conference will focus on emerging research in education, modern teaching methodologies, contemporary challenges facing the education sector and possible solutions, according to the university.

Organised in hybrid mode, the conference will allow academics and education experts from Pakistan and abroad to participate both in person and online, expanding opportunities for international academic exchange.

Researchers to discuss education challenges

Participants will present research papers during different sessions and share their findings and professional experiences on developments in education and teaching practices.

AIOU said the conference is designed to help bridge the gap between academic research and classroom practice, while encouraging meaningful dialogue among researchers, teachers and other education professionals.

The discussions will also provide researchers with a platform to examine how research findings can be translated into practical approaches to improve teaching and learning.

AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nasir Mahmood will host the opening and concluding ceremonies of the conference.

The university said the initiative forms part of its efforts to strengthen research-oriented academic dialogue and promote closer links between educational research and practical teaching.

The conference will conclude on September 23, 2026.
