The Records Department of the Lahore High Court (LHC) said on Wednesday that four judges — Justice Shujaat Ali Khan, Justice Shaheed Bilal Hasan, Justice Alia Neelum and Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh — were threatened.
Three High Court judges, Justice Khan, Justice Hasan and Justice Neelum, are members of the administrative body.
After construction, counter-terrorism officials arrived at the LHC, where security was beefed up.
In addition, the case came to court to investigate suspicious letters. CCTV cameras installed around the High Court are also being checked.
A day earlier, sources said eight judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), including Chief Justice Adalat Farooq, had received “suspicious letters related to ants”.
A team of police experts conducted a thorough investigation to gather facts and identify the substance of the powder after eight judges of the IHC received a “suspicious letter containing ant powder along with a report about a monster honest”.
According to sources, the letter was sent by a woman named Resham.
The judge said, the officer accidentally dropped the container containing the suspect’s powder, and then there was a rash on his eyes and his lips were burnt.
The threatening letters to the Supreme Court judges came after the Supreme Court took suo motu notice and constituted a seven-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Faez Jesus.
Apart from the CJP, the bench included Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Mussarat Hilali, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail and Justice Naeem Akhtar.
The explosive letter last week sparked a crisis and urged the Supreme Court headed by CJP Jesus to hear the matter under Article 184 (3) of the Constitution.
