Islamabad: President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Sardar Tahir Mehmood, strongly condemned the recent provocations by Afghan forces in Pakistan’s border areas. He declared that Afghan aggression is unacceptable and emphasized that Pakistan will never compromise on its defense or sovereignty.

Sardar Tahir Mehmood praised the Pakistan Army for delivering a decisive and professional response. He stated that the nation takes immense pride in the unmatched courage and skill of its armed forces. Their actions once again demonstrated the strength and resilience of Pakistan’s defense.

He also commended the bold leadership of the Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. Under his command, the Pakistan Army launched a strong counteroffensive. Troops destroyed multiple Afghan posts used for aggression and forced the miscreants to retreat. “This proportionate response sends a clear message—Pakistan’s sovereignty is beyond compromise,” he added.

Furthermore, the ICCI President affirmed that the entire nation, including the business and industrial community, stands united with the Pakistan Armed Forces. “Every member of the business sector feels proud and grateful toward our armed forces,” he said. “We remain fully prepared to cooperate in strengthening national defense and promoting unity during this critical time.”

He emphasized that peace and stability drive economic growth and regional prosperity. While Pakistan continues to advocate friendly relations with neighboring countries, including Afghanistan, it refuses to tolerate aggression or provocation under any circumstances.

Therefore, he urged Afghan authorities to act responsibly, respect Pakistan’s sovereignty, and prioritize peace and cross-border cooperation instead of confrontation.

Highlighting the economic dimension, Mehmood pointed out that regional trade and connectivity offer immense mutual benefit. However, these opportunities require an environment built on mutual respect and lasting peace.

In conclusion, he reaffirmed the business community’s full support for all measures the government and armed forces take to protect Pakistan’s borders and defend national interests. “The unity of the Pakistani nation is our greatest strength,” he said. “While the business sector maintains economic stability, our armed forces shield the country’s frontiers.”
