Aerospace security, regional dynamics discussed during Nepal Army delegation’s visit to CASS

The Centre for Aerospace & Security Studies (CASS) hosted a delegation from the Army Command and Staff College Nepal on Tuesday, with discussions centred on the evolving role of the aerial domain in modern warfare and the importance of strengthening Pakistan–Nepal cooperation in security and strategic studies.

The visit highlighted the growing significance of aerospace power in contemporary and future conflicts, alongside the need for closer academic and professional engagement between the two countries. As an independent think tank, CASS continues to engage national and international scholars, policymakers, and practitioners on issues related to national and regional security.

President CASS, Javaid Ahmed, welcomed the visiting delegation and underscored the depth of relations between Pakistan and Nepal. He noted that both countries have historically enjoyed cordial ties, with cooperation spanning multiple sectors.

He also emphasised the strong professional relationship between the armed forces of Pakistan and Nepal, marked by regular exchanges, institutional collaboration, and sustained professional linkages. Referring to regional cooperation, he highlighted the constructive engagement of both countries within the SAARC framework in pursuit of shared regional objectives.

Following the welcome address, CASS researchers delivered presentations outlining key findings from ongoing studies and discussing major trends shaping future aerospace developments. The interactive question-and-answer session focused on contemporary warfare, aerospace security challenges, emerging technologies, and broader regional dynamics.

Discussions also explored potential avenues for future cooperation between CASS and the Nepal Army Command and Staff College, particularly in academic exchanges, joint research initiatives, and professional capacity building.

The visit reflected a shared commitment to dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration on emerging security challenges in South Asia and beyond.
