Actor Sonu Mishra Exits ‘Kala Hiran’ Film, Calls Script ‘One-Sided’ Amid Salman Khan’s Legal Challenge

Actor Sonu Mishra has withdrawn from the upcoming film Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy after filming for two days, saying he left the project because he believed its script unfairly portrayed Bollywood star Salman Khan.

The development comes as Salman Khan pursues legal action in the Delhi High Court, seeking to permanently halt the film’s production and promotional activities on the grounds that it allegedly infringes his personality rights and is based on matters that remain before the courts.

Sonu Mishra Cites Ethical Concerns

Mishra, who had previously worked with Salman Khan, was cast to play a character reportedly inspired by the actor.

In media statements, Mishra said he initially accepted the role without fully understanding the script but later concluded that the film presented what he described as a one-sided narrative against Salman Khan.

He also alleged that the filmmakers expected him, under contractual obligations, to publicly criticize the senior actor as part of the film’s promotion. Mishra said these concerns led him to leave the project.

Salman Khan Challenges Film in Court

Salman Khan has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking to stop the production and promotion of Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy.

According to the petition, the actor argues that the film violates his personality rights and draws on events related to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, which remains subject to ongoing legal proceedings.

Producer Opposes Petition

Producer Amit Jani has opposed Salman Khan’s plea and has continued to back the project despite reports of alleged death threats linked to the controversy.

The Delhi High Court has deferred further proceedings in the case, and no final decision has yet been announced.

The legal dispute over the film remains pending before the court.
