Pakistani actor Muneeb Butt appeared before a special anti-terrorism court during proceedings in a kidnapping for ransom case, where the court extended his interim bail and maintained protective relief until the next hearing.
According to court records, Muneeb Butt has been named in a case registered by Airport Police on April 23 following a complaint filed by a citizen identified as Mutaal Khan. The complainant has alleged that the actor, along with other suspects, was involved in his alleged abduction.
Police said the case includes allegations that the suspects transferred cryptocurrency worth millions of rupees from the complainant’s account after the alleged kidnapping.
Investigators further stated that the complainant was later released in Karachi’s Korangi area following the alleged transfer of digital assets.
Court extends interim bail
During the hearing, Muneeb Butt filed a request seeking an extension of his interim bail. The court approved the request and extended the relief until the next hearing.
The case remains under investigation, and law enforcement authorities are continuing to examine the allegations. The court has also sought a progress report from investigators at the next hearing.
The allegations against the actor have not been proven in court, and legal proceedings remain ongoing.
