The local water committee is completely failed, and there is a strong demand for the establishment of an empowered committee. Elected representatives are silent spectators. Imran Abbasi’s strong reaction The water crisis in Village Council Kaho Sharqi, Abbottabad, has intensified, but the elected representatives, chairman, and the committee formed to address the water issue are maintaining a deafening silence. Clean drinking water is not available anywhere, causing immense distress and frustration among the citizens. Social leader Imran Abbasi has strongly reacted to this situation, severely criticizing the performance of elected representatives and the water committee. Imran Abbasi further stated: “It is highly regrettable that in the modern era of 2025, the people of our village council are struggling for a single drop of water. Despite repeated attempts to bring attention to this issue, the VC chairman and members are merely passing time and following a policy of silence.” He added that the current situation is a clear proof of the failure of these representatives. Not only the elected representatives of VC Kaho Sharqi but also local leaders of PML-N, PTI, and Jamaat-e-Islami are mysteriously silent. “These are the same people who made grand promises during the last local government elections. Both winners and losers are as absent as the horns on an elephant’s head. Public issues are not on anyone’s agenda; everyone is busy in their own political race.” Imran Abbasi made a clear demand that the powerless and failed water committee of the area should be immediately abolished and a new committee comprising empowered and capable individuals should be formed to work under the direct supervision of the department or VC. He also appealed to the local chairmen to adopt a comprehensive strategy to resolve the worsening water issue.

Public Demand: No politics on water crisis, action is required. The people of Kaho Sharqi say that when it’s time to take votes, all parties become active in the area, but when it’s time to solve public issues, everyone disappears. A basic issue like water is still unresolved, which is clear evidence of the failure of local leadership.Local citizens have demanded that the district administration, Public Health Department, and elected representatives take immediate action to provide water facilities to the people of Kaho Sharqi, or else severe protests will be staged.
