Abbottabad Property worth billions of rupees of the Auqaf Department of Hazara Division has become a white elephant. The reciters posted in the mosques of the Auqaf Department have been deprived of their salaries for the last four months. If they do not receive their salaries, they will commit mass self-immolation. These views were expressed by the Patron-in-Chief of the Auqaf Department of Hazara Division, Qari Muhammad Ismail, Qari Mushtaq and other reciters while addressing an emergency meeting at the office of the Auqaf Department of Abbottabad. They said that despite the passage of four months, we have not received our salaries. Are our needs not met, are our children not met. According to which law are we being deprived of our salaries?
The provincial Chief Minister, Minister of Religious Affairs and Secretary Auqaf should answer us as to what mistake has been made by the reciters of Hazara Division that we are being deprived of our salaries. We are claiming a surplus budget, but they do not have money to give to the Auqaf employees. We have been starving in our homes for the last four months. To whom should we complain? We demand that the federal and Sindh provincial governments fulfill their promises of 30 percent disparity allowance and AAP gradation to Auqaf employees. We should also be given allowance and AAP gradation. And our salaries that have been withheld for four months should be released.
