Abbottabad A transgender was killed and another seriously injured at a wedding ceremony on Nadi Road, within the limits of Abbottabad Police Station Mirpur. The transgender community staged a protest demonstration on the Karakoram Highway in front of the police station. Traffic jams were caused by the road closure, and long queues of vehicles were also seen. The police also arrested the accused Malik Tauqir Saraf involved in the incident. On Thursday night, at a wedding ceremony on Nadi Road, the accused Malik Tauqir Saraf opened fire on a transgender woman, Zebi, as a result of which Zebi died on the spot, while her other companion, Benish, was injured in the firing. The District Police Officer took immediate notice of the incident and the police arrested the murderer Malik Tauqir Saraf. According to the incident, the accused opened fire on a transgender woman, Zebi, who had been living in Abbottabad for a long time, and her companion, Benish, a resident of Lahore, on Nadi Road, due to which the transgender woman, Zebi, died on the spot, while Benish was seriously injured.
DPO Abbottabad Umar Tufail took notice of the incident and informed Mirpur The police were ordered to immediately arrest the accused, on which the local police took timely action and arrested the accused Malik Tauqir and registered a case on the complaint of the injured woman. The body was handed over to the heirs after the postmortem. According to the initial investigation of the police, the accused and the transgender were friends, while some pictures of the accused were in the transgender’s mobile phone, which the accused was upset about. After the incident, the transgender community held a protest demonstration in front of Mirpur police station on Friday. The road was closed to all types of traffic. They expressed regret after the incident in Abbottabad city and demanded that the police punish the accused according to the law.
