A book has been returned to an American library after 51 years. According to a foreign news agency, Worcester Public Library in Massachusetts revealed that the only copy of The Early Work of Aubrey Beardsley was due to be returned on May 22, 1973, but never made it back.
Recently, a librarian from another library contacted Worcester Public Library’s librarian, Alex London. Alex explained that a librarian from Cambridge Public Library had reached out, saying someone had brought in the book and that they managed to save it from being discarded.
Worcester Public Library announced in a social media post that the book, published in 1899, has finally found its way back home.
