Dera Ismail Khan: In order to promote cultural activities, a Cultural Day was celebrated at Gomal Medical College under the theme “Kaltori Rangona” (Cultural Colors). The chief guest of the event was the wife of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, while Razia Mahsood, Chairperson of the Razia Mahsood Development Foundation, also participated as a special guest.

Medical students showcased the diverse cultures of the country through various stalls representing traditional attire, foods, crafts, and regional handwork. On this occasion, the Dean of Gomal Medical College, Professor Dr. Naseem Saba Mahsud, warmly welcomed the chief guest and guided her through the cultural stalls.

The event featured a cultural walk, skits, and traditional dances from all four provinces—Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan—which were highly appreciated by the audience.

Dr. Naseem Saba Mahsud stated, “Medical students face a highly demanding academic environment; such events offer them mental peace and renewed motivation. These activities also connect them to their heritage and send a positive social message.”

Dr. Taj Muhammad Mahsud, Incharge of the Children’s Ward and Pediatric Specialist, remarked, “In the busy lives of students and doctors, such activities hold great importance. They not only provide entertainment but also create a healthy environment.”
Dr. Nighat Aziz commented, “Events like these allow medical students to take a break from their rigorous routines and enjoy themselves. Exposure to diverse cultures enhances their knowledge, which is essential for their overall training.”

Similarly, students expressed that such activities bring them joy and a sense of fulfillment.
