Swabi: A two-day training and awareness workshop was successfully concluded in Swabi, organized in collaboration with the Child Protection Unit Swabi, and UNICEF Pakistan. The workshop brought together men and women from various sectors of the Swabi district, including the Health Department, Police, Judiciary, Social Welfare, Rescue 1122, Afghan Refugees, Zakat and Usher, Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust, BioCare Drugs Center Swabi, SB Representatives of RC Social Welfare Coordination Council, Education Department, Bait ul Salam, Probation Department, Prosecution Department, District Bar Swabi, DC Office Swabi, CERD, and Al Khidmat, along with other social organizations.
Participants engaged in open discussions on child protection laws and ways to provide a safe environment for children, addressing issues like harassment. Each stakeholder highlighted the role of their respective departments in child protection efforts.
The master trainer for the workshop, Mr. Jehanzeb, Child Protection Officer Swabi, answered participants’ questions and explained the responsibilities of various departments in ensuring child safety. He emphasized that not only orphans and vulnerable children but also those in schools, madrasas, and everyday activities need careful attention from parents. Jehanzeb also stressed the important role of the media in raising awareness about child protection laws, noting the lack of knowledge about these laws in society.
The participants appreciated the workshop, considering it a valuable initiative. At the conclusion of the event, certificates were distributed to the participants by the Assistant Commissioner.
