Abbottabad: An inter-Hazara Qiraat and Naat competition was organized by the Literary Society of COMSATS University for Abbottabad at the Abbottabad campus in which students from more than 27 different universities, colleges and schools from all over Hazara participated. Syed Muhammad Talha of Pakistan Scouts Cadet College Mansehra and Daniyal Ahmed of Government Postgraduate College Haripur won the first position in Qiraat and Naat Khawani. The chief guest, Tahir Munir Awan, a senior sports journalist of the country and in-charge of the Naat department of Hazara Abasin Arts Council Abbottabad, and the President of the Ceremony Director COMSATS Abbottabad, Professor Dr. Shahid Khattak, distributed prizes among the successful students. In connection with the week-long celebrations of COMSATS University Abbottabad, the COMSATS Literary Society Abbottabad organized these competitions at the Hazara Division level for the first time in the history of the institution at the Dr. Haroon-ul-Rashid Auditorium. In which students from more than 27 educational institutions from all over Hazara participated.
Hafiz Rukhsar Rajput and Hafiz Abdul Basit Mehravi were the judges in the recitation competition, while the Naat competition was judged by prominent Naat poets and Naat Khawans Osama Pervez and Qaiser Hashmi. In these competitions, which lasted for more than five hours, Syed Muhammad Talha of Pakistan Scout Cadet College Mansehra won first position in recitation, Syed Zakaria of Government Postgraduate College No. 1 Abbottabad won second position, and Hafiz Salman Khan of Abbottabad University of Science and Technology won third position. While in the Naat Khawani competition, the field was in the hands of Daniyal Ahmed of Government Postgraduate College Haripur. In these Naat competitions, Iqra Jahanzeb of Government Postgraduate College for Women No. 1 Abbottabad came second, and Muzammil Jalil of Government Commerce College Abbottabad and Fahad Naseem of The Peace Group of Schools and Colleges jointly came third. While at the end of the competition, the chief guest Tahir Munir Awan, the guest of honor Daniyal Ilyas, the president of the ceremony, Director COMSATS Abbottabad, Professor Dr. Shahid Khattak, Faculty In-charge of CLS, Professor Dr. Asad Rafaq, judges Osama Pervez, Hafiz Rukhsar Rajput and Hafiz Abdul Basit Mehravi also spoke.
The chief guest Tahir Munir Awan said that the essence of the Lord of the two worlds is that boundless universe of qualities and perfections, which is not enough for humanity to encompass, and the main reason for the decline of Muslims spread throughout the world is that they have strayed from the life of Uswa Mustafa. Therefore, it is important that we find solutions to our problems by instilling the love of Mustafa in our hearts and through the book of revelation. While the President of the event, Professor Dr. Shahid Khattak, congratulated the members of the CLS Society for organizing the wonderful event and reiterated his commitment to provide full patronage for the future as well and said that the institution will continue to play its role to the fullest to highlight the talents of the students in other fields including Qiraat and Naat. At the end of the event, the special guest Tahir Munir, the President of the event, Professor Dr. Shahid Khattak and the guest of honor Daniyal Ilyas distributed shields, souvenirs and certificates of appreciation to the successful students and judges.
