The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched action against its officials involved in people smuggling in connection with the Greek ship tragedy.
A total of 35 officials were dismissed, including 4 inspectors, 10 sub-inspectors and 2 assistant sub-inspectors.
Five chief constables and 14 constables were also terminated. Cases were registered against 13 FIA officials who were involved in human trafficking.
The FIA Director General conducted a hearing regarding the department’s action against these individuals.

The FIA confirmed that among the victims of the Greek ship tragedy were Shabbir, Zain and Zeeshan from Narowal as well as Owais from Sialkot.
The FIA has announced that the bodies of four more victims of the Greek ship tragedy have been found, bringing the total number of dead to nine.
According to the FIA, 49 Pakistani citizens remain missing after the Greek ship disaster.
Identification of the bodies will be carried out using DNA tests, the FIA said.
The Pakistani embassy is trying to repatriate the bodies to Pakistan, the FIA added.
FIA officials involved in Greek ship tragedy expelled from district
An investigation into the recent Greek boat crash has revealed that several officers and officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) were involved in human trafficking, prompting action against them in the ministry.
In the first phase, 18 FIA officers and officials involved in the case, including a sub-inspector, three ASIs, 11 head constables and three constables, were expelled from the district. Sialkot Airport Additional Director (Immigration) Ali Zaidi has also been transferred.
All the suspected officers and officials have been posted to Gujrat, Gujranwala and Sialkot, while notification of their transfers has been issued. Kartarpur DD Muhammad Nauman was given additional charge for Sialkot Airport.
Meanwhile, FIA officers and officials who were caught up in the Greek ship accident arrived at the agency’s headquarters. He will appear in person before the DG and present his opinion.
Reportedly, 38 officers and officials allegedly involved in the incident have appeared on summons at the FIA DG as the DG is set to personally investigate all these suspects. If found guilty, action will be taken against these officers and officials.
