Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Adviser Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif announced that a ceasefire has been declared in Kurram and both sides are observing it.
He expressed optimism that the long-standing problem of Kurram, which has persisted for 130 years, would be permanently resolved.
Speaking to the media, Barrister Saif said that the Kurram Accord is expected to be signed tomorrow.
“Both sides have agreed to surrender their weapons and open the gates, signaling a move towards lasting peace,” he said.
One side has already agreed to pick up the weapons, while the other has asked for more time.
The Apex Committee was mandated to oversee the process and ensure that all decisions are effectively implemented.
Barrister Saif acknowledged the tragic loss of life during the recent riots in Kurram and emphasized that the government was determined to prevent such incidents in the future.
