SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: In a ceremony held on Monday in the Lower South Waziristan tribal district, the Wana Welfare Association (WAWA) awarded the Dr. Bubri Gul Scholarship to 103 successful students from various government and private schools.
The event was attended by people from all walks of life, including Ullama, principals, tribal elders, political and social personalities, and parents of the students.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Additional Deputy Commissioner South Waziristan Lower Finance and Planning Kashmir Khan, who emphasized the importance of education in his address.
He praised WAWA’s efforts in promoting education in the area and assured that the district administration will continue to work together with the association to develop the area through quality education.
WAWA President Rehmat Ullah Wazir presented a gift of 240 books to the library of Musa Nika Public School and College Wana on the occasion.
He stated that this scholarship is a significant step towards quality education up to the primary level in Wana, which is especially beneficial for the underprivileged students of the area.
The Dr. Bubri Gul Scholarship will be awarded to 103 successful students of the fifth class for three years. Additionally, scholarships will be given to male and female students from 5th to 7th standard under this scholarship program.
Furthermore, scholarships are also provided to students under the Wana Welfare Association Annual Hunt Test and Merit Scholarship Test.
