ISLAMABAD: Electricity consumers will face a further hike in tariffs to Rs 2.63 per unit due to fuel charge adjustment (FCA) on electricity consumed during June 2024.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA), acting on behalf of Distribution Companies (DISCOs), has formally submitted a request to the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to increase the price of electricity by Rs 2.6307 per kilowatt hour (kWh). ) under the FCA.
According to CPPA’s detailed filing, benchmark fuel charges collected from consumers for June were pegged at Rs 7.1403 per unit, while the total actual cost per unit was higher at Rs 9.7710.
Meanwhile, NEPRA has scheduled a public hearing to discuss and consider the application on July 31.
