Islamabad: This afternoon Italian Ambassador H.E. Marilina Armellin paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House.
Greeting the Ambassador, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan highly values its multilateral relations with Italy, which have always been marked by goodwill and trust for decades. He said that the two sides have similar views on regional and global issues.
The Prime Minister thanked the Italian leader for the letter congratulating him on his re-election and said he would work closely with Italy to strengthen bilateral relations in the coming days.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of high-level exchanges and H.E. Italian Prime Minister Mrs. Giorgia Meloni will visit Pakistan. The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for Meloni’s domestic and foreign policies that made Italy an important member of the EU.
The Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction with the positive trend of Pakistan-Italy bilateral relations and called on both sides to develop cooperation in the field of education, trade and investment, legal migration and cultural exchange. He thanked Italy for hosting a large number of Pakistani diaspora who became a bridge between the two countries and contributed to its economic development.
The Ambassador thanked the Prime Minister for the reception and said that Italy wants to further develop its relations with Pakistan. He said he would strive to develop stronger ties between the two countries.
