Director of Mishal Initiative Special Education Institute Miss Iram Arif told Alliance News that the idea of establishing Mishal Initiative Special Education Institute started with Sardar Muhammad Tariq, Director General of Tarbela Dam Project.
She said Mashal Initiative Institute was formally established in December 1998 with a total strength of 9.
Aram Arif said that currently the number of schools is around 153, of which 53 girls and 97 boys are studying in Mashal Institute of Special Education.
She said that WAPDA has allotted a campus building for girls and boys.
Answering a question, Aram Arif said that initially funds were raised only from the Tarbela Dam Women’s Club and individual contributions.
She emphasized the people and concerned intuitions to come forward and associate with Mishal Initiative Institute of Special Education for better healthcare, education and other activities of such children who really need public attention and support.
