RAWALPINDI: The closing ceremony of the 45th Pakistan Army Rifle Association (PARA) Central Meet was held at the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU), Jhelum, where Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Over 2,000 participants showcase skills at PARA Central Meet 2025
The PARA Central Meet 2025, conducted from October 1 to November 10, brought together over 2,000 participants from the Pakistan Army, Navy, Air Force, Civil Armed Forces, and provincial rifle associations of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and the Federal Rifle Association. The participants displayed exceptional shooting skills and competitive spirit throughout the championship.
Pakistan Army dominates PARA championship with multiple victories
The Pakistan Army emerged victorious in the 3rd Inter-Services Combat Shooting Championship 2025, securing wins in all four inter-services matches. The Punjab Regiment clinched the Unit Firing Proficiency Match Group-I title, while Sepoy Muhammad Irfan of Punjab Regiment was declared The Master at Arms. Naib Subedar Umar Farooq of the Army Marksmanship Unit won The Army Hundred Rifle Match Trophy.

COAS praises excellence in marksmanship at PARA event
While addressing the participants, the COAS commended their remarkable marksmanship and underscored the importance of shooting excellence, stating that “mastery in shooting must remain a core objective of military training.”
Field Marshal Asim Munir attends MCJ centenary celebrations
Later, Field Marshal Asim Munir attended the centenary celebrations of Military College Jhelum (MCJ) as chief guest. He inaugurated the Centenary Monument and College Museum, paying tribute to the institution’s hundred years of academic and moral excellence. The Army Chief lauded MCJ’s pivotal role in nurturing leadership, discipline, and patriotism among its cadets, acknowledging the significant contributions of Alamgirians to Pakistan and its Armed Forces.
COAS pays homage at Yadgar-e-Shuhada
The COAS also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to honor the martyrs. Upon his arrival, he was received by Commander Rawalpindi Corps and Inspector General Training and Evaluation (IGT&E).
