Lahore: As part of its 50-Year Strategic Intent of Sustainability & Environmental Leadership, Beaconhouse, in collaboration with WWF-Pakistan, successfully hosted Cyclathon 2025, a large-scale community cycling event held simultaneously in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. The initiative welcomed students, parents, and employees of the two organisations to promote sustainable transport, raise awareness on air quality, and champion greener cities.
With over 800+ participants joining across the three cities, the event was a vibrant demonstration of collective action towards combating climate change. Covering a combined distance of 28 km, Cyclathon 2025 showcased how community-driven initiatives can promote healthier lifestyles and greener transport. Given that Pakistan is ranked among the most climate-vulnerable countries globally, and urban centres are poised yet again to grapple with issues of poor air quality, the event carried particular significance in raising awareness on sustainable practices and the urgent need for environmental responsibility.
Speaking about the event, Ali Ahmad Khan, Chief Operating Officer, Beaconhouse highlighted the organisation’s commitment to sustainability: “As Beaconhouse marks 50 years, Cyclathon 2025 reflects our belief that the future of education is inseparable from the future of our planet. By engaging students, parents, and employees alike, we are building a culture of responsibility that extends beyond classrooms and into our daily lives.”
Beaconhouse and WWF-Pakistan’s joint efforts mark a significant milestone in building community-driven climate action. With the success of Cyclathon 2025, both organisations reaffirm their commitment to creating a sustainable, healthy, and environmentally conscious future for Pakistan.
