Islamabad — In a significant step toward expanding affordable housing for government employees, the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s ZKB Town (Pvt.) Ltd. The agreement was formalized during a high-level meeting held at FGEHA Headquarters in Sector G-10/4, Islamabad.
Over 6,000 Kanals to Be Developed Near Islamabad Airport
The MoU outlines the development of a large-scale residential housing project under the FGEHA (JV & PPP) Rules, 2025, based on the End Product Model. In its first phase, the project will span more than 6,000 kanals of land near Islamabad International Airport and Motorway M-14. It is expected to accommodate approximately 10,000 registered members, offering quality and affordable residential plots to federal government employees.
Leadership Commits to Timely, Transparent Delivery
Addressing the ceremony, Director General FGEHA, Captain (R) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, called the project a major milestone in fulfilling the dream of accessible housing for federal employees. He emphasized that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to advancing public-private partnership models for sustainable urban development.
The event was attended by senior FGEHA officials, representatives from ZKB Town (Pvt.) Ltd., media personnel, and delegates from various government departments.
Secretary Housing Briefed on Progress and Future Plans
During the meeting, newly appointed Secretary of the Ministry of Housing & Works, Captain (R) Muhammad Mahmood, received a comprehensive briefing on FGEHA’s ongoing and completed projects. These include successful developments in Islamabad and Karachi, as well as upcoming ventures such as the Lifestyle Residency Apartments, Sectors G-13 & G-14, and the Skyline Housing Projects.
The DG highlighted the Authority’s achievements in adopting modern construction standards, implementing a transparent allotment system, and offering online services to enhance public convenience.
Government Reaffirms Housing Commitment
Secretary Mahmood praised FGEHA’s performance and reaffirmed the federal government’s dedication to providing safe, affordable, and high-quality housing for its employees. He stressed the importance of timely project completion and maintaining transparency throughout the development process.
DG Zafar Iqbal assured that all ongoing projects will be completed within their stipulated timelines and that the Authority will continue to raise the bar for housing standards in Pakistan.
Recognition for Leadership and Service
At the conclusion of the event, Mr. Muhammad Sadiq Anzar, newly elected Chairman of the All-Pakistan Newspaper Employees Confederation (APNEC), presented a commemorative shield to DG FGEHA in recognition of his leadership and commitment to public service.
