Islamabad — PTCL Group, Pakistan’s leading telecom and ICT services provider, has reported robust financial results for the nine months ending September 30, 2025, recording a 15% year-on-year revenue increase. The announcement was made during a Board of Directors meeting held in Islamabad, reaffirming PTCL’s position as the country’s premier integrated telecom operator.
Strong Financial Performance Across Segments
The Group’s revenue growth was fueled by solid gains in fixed broadband, mobile data, enterprise solutions, and carrier wholesale services. PTCL’s standalone revenue rose by 13%, driven by a 56% surge in Flash Fiber subscriptions and a 17% increase in Business Solutions. Carrier and Wholesale services posted 24% growth, while the international segment saw a 6% uptick.
PTCL’s operating profit reached Rs. 12.9 billion, marking a 57% increase over the same period last year. However, the company reported a net loss of Rs. 1.2 billion due to a one-time pension liability adjustment of Rs. 5.9 billion following a Supreme Court ruling.
Ufone 4G demonstrated resilience with 15% topline growth and delivered a strong EBIT of Rs. 11.9 billion, up from Rs. 1.6 billion in 2024. U Microfinance Bank (Ubank) also posted a 19% revenue increase.
Strategic Expansion and Market Leadership
PTCL Group achieved a major milestone with Phase-II approval from the Competition Commission of Pakistan for its proposed acquisition of Telenor Pakistan. This move is expected to accelerate sector consolidation and support the government’s vision of a digitally empowered Pakistan.
Flash Fiber continued to dominate the fiber broadband market, growing 30% year-on-year and maintaining a 35% subscriber share. The newly launched Tez Raftaar offer aims to expand high-speed internet access for homes and businesses nationwide.
PTCL’s business services retained leadership across IP bandwidth, cloud, data center, and ICT solutions, reinforcing Pakistan’s role as a regional connectivity hub. A landmark Trans-Pakistan agreement with Chinese operators and submarine cable capacity sales from Singapore to Marseille further strengthened Pakistan’s global digital infrastructure.
Innovation and Customer-Centric Initiatives
PTCL launched Pakistan’s first 5G-ready smart residential community, integrating modern living with seamless connectivity. The company also became the first in the industry to introduce automated bill delivery via WhatsApp, enhancing customer convenience.
In partnership with Mercantile, Apple’s authorized distributor in Pakistan, PTCL and Ufone launched the iPhone 17 series bundled with exclusive telecom offers in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. The initiative includes warranty-backed devices, insurance coverage, and premium connectivity benefits.
Ufone continued its network modernization, retiring 44% of its 3G infrastructure and reallocating spectrum to boost 4G and VoLTE performance. The company’s 4G base penetration rose by 5.9 percentage points to reach 69.2%.
Digital platforms also saw strong momentum: UPaisa reached 1.2 million monthly active users, up 153% year-on-year, while the My Ufone app grew to 5.4 million users, a 65% increase.
Awards and Recognition
PTCL Group earned four honors at the Dragons of Pakistan 2025 Awards, including a Gold Award for its ‘Dil Se’ Thar Water Plants initiative and a Bronze for ‘Data Bohhaaat Hai x PSL.’ Two Black Awards recognized campaigns celebrating national pride and digital engagement.
Social Impact Through ‘Dil Se’
Under its flagship social impact platform ‘Dil Se,’ PTCL Group continues to drive inclusive development. The second phase of the ‘Ba-Ikhtiar’ program, in partnership with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), supports small-scale women entrepreneurs in 23 cities, starting with the Christian community in Rawalpindi and the Kalash community in Chitral.
PTCL and PPAF also signed an MoU to provide clean drinking water in underserved regions of Thar and South Punjab, benefiting over 200,000 people through reverse osmosis systems, rainwater harvesting, and hand pumps.
Following recent floods, Ufone 4G offered free call minutes in affected districts, while PTCL extended bill discounts to impacted broadband customers—demonstrating the Group’s commitment to community welfare.
Inclusion Through Technology
PTCL Group introduced SUNO, an AI-powered early warning system developed with ConnectHear to support the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. The system delivers sign language video alerts via WhatsApp during emergencies, ensuring accessible and timely communication.
