Tashkent — Uzbekistan Airways has announced a major expansion of its flight operations between Tashkent and Islamabad, doubling the frequency of its service on the “Tashkent–Islamabad–Tashkent” route from once to twice weekly, effective October 28, 2025.
The move reflects the airline’s commitment to strengthening air connectivity between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, responding to growing demand from travelers, business professionals, and tourists. Flights on this route have consistently operated at full capacity, with tickets often selling out days in advance.
Uzbekistan Airways currently operates two weekly flights on the “Tashkent–Lahore–Tashkent” route and one weekly flight to Islamabad. The addition of a second Islamabad service offers Pakistani travelers greater flexibility, shorter booking lead times, and more options for planning business trips, family visits, and leisure travel.
Tashkent International Airport, the airline’s central hub, serves as a key transit gateway in Central Asia, linking Pakistan to over 50 global destinations. Passengers flying via Tashkent can access smooth connections to cities such as Istanbul, Frankfurt, Paris, London, New York, Moscow, Tokyo, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Baku, and Astana—making Uzbekistan Airways an increasingly attractive option for international travel.
The expanded flight schedule is expected to boost tourism cooperation between the two nations. Uzbekistan’s ancient Silk Road cities—Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Kokand—offer Pakistani tourists rich opportunities to explore Islamic heritage, shared cultural roots, and architectural marvels. In return, improved connectivity is likely to encourage more Uzbek visitors to experience Pakistan’s scenic landscapes, spiritual sites, and renowned hospitality.
Officials say the decision aligns with both countries’ shared vision of enhancing regional cooperation, trade, and connectivity. Strengthened air transport links are seen as a catalyst for economic diplomacy and integration across Central and South Asia.
Uzbekistan Airways described the expansion as more than a logistical upgrade—it is a symbol of deepening friendship and forward-looking partnership. For Pakistani travelers, the enhanced Tashkent–Islamabad service opens new doors to global destinations and cultural exploration.
