MIR ALI, NORTH WAZIRISTAN: A suicide attack in Mir Ali was thwarted on Friday when security forces repelled a coordinated assault on their camp, killing six militants linked to the banned Khawarij group, according to security sources.

The attack began when a militant rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the outer wall of a security forces post in the Mir Ali area. The vehicle detonated on impact, triggering a loud explosion but failing to breach the perimeter.

Immediately after the blast, five more attackers attempted to storm the camp. However, security personnel responded swiftly, neutralizing all five assailants before they could enter the premises.

Security sources confirmed that the suicide attack in Mir Ali was part of a broader wave of cross-border militancy. In the past four days alone, 108 militants allegedly sent by the Afghan Taliban have been killed in various operations across the region.

Tragically, one soldier embraced martyrdom and six others sustained injuries when the roof of the post collapsed due to the blast’s shockwave.

Officials praised the vigilance and rapid response of the troops, crediting their actions with preventing a potentially devastating breach. The incident underscores the ongoing threat posed by militant networks operating near the Afghan border.

Under the National Action Plan, the Pakistani Armed Forces, security agencies, and the public remain united in their resolve to eliminate terrorism from the country. “We will stand firm until the last foreign militant is removed from our soil, God willing,” a senior official stated.
