CHAKWAL (Samandar Khan): Deputy Commissioner Sarah Hayat, accompanied by District Police Officer Lt. (R) Ahmad Mohiuddin, presided over a meeting of the District Peace Committee to review and discuss strategies for maintaining law and order in the district.
The meeting was attended by religious scholars, community elders, and members of the peace committee. Participants emphasized that Islam is a religion of peace, tolerance, and harmony, and underscored the importance of patience, unity, and mutual respect to preserve the district’s peaceful environment.
Religious scholars stated that the maintenance of public peace is a collective responsibility of every member of society. They added that citizens from all schools of thought in Chakwal and Talagang will be urged to strictly follow Islamic teachings and refrain from any actions that may disturb public order.
The members of the District Peace Committee reaffirmed their commitment to fully cooperate with the district administration and police in promoting harmony, social stability, and strengthening the local security system.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Sarah Hayat reiterated that the Government of Punjab would not compromise on state authority or the rule of law. She said the district administration is fully committed to implementing the government’s directives to ensure lasting peace and stability. She also appreciated the constructive proposals presented by the committee members and assured that these recommendations would be incorporated into the district’s peace plan for further improvement.
DPO Lt. (R) Ahmad Mohiuddin, in his remarks, said that the district administration and police remain on high alert to safeguard peace and security. He added that with the guidance and cooperation of the peace committee members, law enforcement agencies are keeping a close watch on the situation in Chakwal and Talagang to prevent any attempt to disrupt public order.
