MAKKAH — His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, officially announced the launch of the King Salman Gate project in Makkah. As Chairman of the Board of Directors of RUA AlHaram AlMakki Company, he emphasized the project’s strategic importance to the Holy City.
The development spans up to 12 million square meters of Gross Floor Area adjacent to AlMasjid AlHaram. Not only does it mark a major milestone in Makkah’s transformation, but it also sets a global benchmark for modern city planning and integrated infrastructure.
Importantly, King Salman Gate will improve access to AlMasjid AlHaram, raise service standards, and enrich the pilgrim experience. Moreover, the project aligns with the Pilgrim Experience Program and supports Saudi Vision 2030’s goals for economic transformation.
The mixed-use destination will offer residential, hospitality, commercial, and cultural spaces. In addition, it will accommodate approximately 900,000 indoor and outdoor praying areas, ensuring comfort and accessibility for worshippers.
Furthermore, public transportation networks will connect seamlessly to the project, making travel easier for residents and visitors alike. The design blends Makkah’s rich architectural heritage with world-class urban planning to create a unique and immersive environment.
Notably, the team will restore and develop around 19,000 square meters of heritage sites. As a result, the project preserves Makkah’s cultural legacy while enhancing the spiritual and historical journey of every visitor.
RUA AlHaram AlMakki Company, a Public Investment Fund (PIF) entity, leads the development. Through this initiative, the company advances urban growth around AlMasjid AlHaram and promotes global best practices in real estate innovation.
