According to Station incharge , Barikot Rescue 1122 Swat, their teams had been conducting continuous search operations at various points along the river for three weeks, which finally concluded successfully today.

He said that the body was severely decomposed due to prolonged submersion. However, initial identification was made possible through the white shirt the deceased was wearing, and the identity was later confirmed by the family.

The body has been handed over to the family after completing all legal formalities and is being transported to the deceased’s native town of Daska, Sialkot via Rescue 1122 ambulance.

It is worth mentioning that on June 27, 2025, a tragic incident occurred when a group of tourists was swept away by a powerful current while standing on a footbridge over the Swat River. In the heartbreaking incident, 10 tourists from Sialkot and 3 from Mardan drowned.

Most of the bodies were recovered shortly after the incident, but the search for Abdullah remained a major challenge for the rescue teams.
