The body of Muhammad Asif, a WAPDA security guard who had drowned in the Ghazi Barotha Canal a week ago, has been recovered near the Barotha area. According to details, Muhammad Asif, a resident of Mianwali and recently appointed as a security guard in WAPDA, drowned near Barazai while attempting to bathe in the canal. Sources revealed that the deceased had entered the water to drink, but was swept away by the strong current.

After continuous efforts by rescue teams and local divers, his body was finally recovered from the Barotha section of the canal. Muhammad Asif had only recently joined WAPDA, having served just a few months in his role. The sudden and tragic incident has cast a shadow of grief over the local community and his fellow employees. The body was handed over to the family after necessary legal formalities. WAPDA officials and security authorities have expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
