Muzaffarabad: The Jammu and Kashmir Solidarity March, which began in the Neelum Valley, reached the city on Friday.
According to reports, participants in the Solidarity March passed in front of Indian military checkpoints in the Semari and Titwal villages near the LOC, chanting anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.
Residents of Kundal Shahi, Jura, Mirpura, Barian, Simari, Chilhana, Nausadda, Noseri, and Pathika also joined the march to show sympathy with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).
The participants in the Kashmir Solidarity March hoisted Pakistani and Kashmiri flags in front of Indian checkpoints.
Speakers said that India is a usurper who cannot extinguish the spirit of independence by murdering Kashmiri citizens, among other atrocities.
They claimed that despite all imperialist tactics, India had failed to establish sovereignty over Jammu and Kashmir.
“The Kashmiri people have rejected the cruel actions of the Indian Lok Sabha on August 5, 2019, and the biased political decisions of the Indian Supreme Court on December 11, 2023” , the statement said.
The Speaker went on to say that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will continue to battle for the state’s independence from Indian military occupation.
They requested that the United Nations honor previous pledges made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir regarding the right to self-determination.
March was led by Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Vice Chairman Usman Ali Hashim, Mehnaz Qureshi, Sharafat Hussain Mughal, Peerzada Sultan, Abdul Hayi Rajouri, Muhammad Ishaq Shaheen, Alif Din Dar, Muhammad Farooq Sheikh, Muhammad Fayyaz Khan, Imtiaz Aziz, Irshad Tantry, and others.
