Melbourne: Dominant reigning champion Aryna Sabalenka defeated ninth seed Barbora Krejcikova on Tuesday, setting up an exciting Australian Open semi-final against Coco Gauff.
In a dominant 6-2, 6-3 victory on Rod Laver Arena, the world number two advanced to the final four of a Grand Slam for the sixth time in a row.
She will next face Gauff in a rematch of last year’s US Open final, which the American teen won in three sets.
Sabalenka stated after her defeat as a favourite at Flushing Meadows that she wants to avoid becoming a one-hit wonder.
Gauff, who has only lost 16 games at Melbourne Park, will be the underdog again.
