SWAT: At least Five-miners from Shangla district were killed here on Thursday, in two different incidents at the Emerald Mine in Swat district and the coal mine in Orakzai district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“Two miners died when the rope of a dolly lift broke in the Emerald Mine in Swat, while three miners lost their lives when poisonous gas filled the Orakzai coal mine.”
According to details, on Thursday, two miners, Muhammad Afsar son of Sher Afzal and Husan Zada son of Shaibar, residents of Koz Kana, Shangla district, were sitting on a dolly lift while working in the Emerald Mine in Fizagat, when the rope of the lift broke and both died on the spot.
The bodies of both were recovered and shifted to Saidu Group of Teaching Hospitals Swat.
After the heirs did not take any action, the police handed over the bodies to them.
On the other hand, a tragic accident has also taken place in the coal mine of Tora Warai in the merged tribal district of Orakzai. Where three miners Rahimullah son of Sher Rahman, Liaqat Ali son of Bacha Khan and Sher Zada son of Sher Muhammad from village Daulat Kalay of Tehsil Alpurai of Shangla district died of suffocation due to poisonous gas filling the mine.
The bodies of the three miners were recovered from the mine and later sent to their native district of Shangla district.
