4 Miners from KP Among 280 Dead in Coal Mine Accidents This Year

SWAT: 4 more miners belonging to the districts of Shangla and Swat of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa died during the incidents in various coal mines across the county.
During this year, the number of miners who died in various coal mines of the country has reached 280, while the number of disabled people has increased from 30 to 40.
According to details ,Two young miners, Syed Nabi son of Roohul Amin and Syed Wali son of Ahmed from Kozkana area of ​​Alpurai Tehsil of Shangla district, were died as a result of an explosion during the coal mine of Tora Warai of Hangu district on Monday.
“The dead bodies of both the martyred miners have been brought to their native areas.”
Similarly, a miner Azizullah resident of Shalpin (Khwazakhela) Swat died due to a heavy stone fall while digging in the Shahrag coal mine of Quetta of Balochistan Province.The body of the deceased has been brought to the native area.
“A miner Esa Khan son of Talib Jan resident Kabal Swat has also died in the coal mine of Kandhkot area of ​​Sindh Province. Whose body has been sent to the native area.
Ali Bash Khan, President of Pakistan Central Mines Labor Federation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said that during this year, around 280 miners have been martyred in different coal mines of the country, while 30 to 40 miners have been disabled for life.
He said that out of the 9 lakh population of Shangla district, more than 3 lakh people are forced to work hard in coal mines and the age of these people ranges from 16 years to 45 years.
According to Ali Bash Khan, there is no doubt that wages are high in coal mines, but unfortunately, most of the mines are illegal and due to the contractual system, there is no management of mine safety due to which day-to-day Accidents happen and funerals of miners come to the area.
“If the government makes a unified legislation for coal mines like in other countries, it can reduce the death rate,” he demanded.
