The championship’s opening ceremony, held at Bahawalpur’s Dring Stadium, was organized under the auspices of the Pakistan Army in collaboration with the Pakistan Handball Federation. Ten teams from across the country are participating, showcasing the skills of 500 players in this tournament.
Teams from Army, Police, WAPDA, Higher Education, and all five provinces are competing in the championship, which will continue until December 28, following a league basis format.
A large number of citizens, including children, attended the opening ceremony. The Chief Guest, Bahawalpur Deputy Commissioner Dr. Farhan Farooq, expressed his delight at witnessing the National Handball Championship in Bahawalpur.
He emphasized the importance of such events for national unity and stated that these competitions will bring forward new talent.
