A 311-year-old violin has been sold for $11.3 million at an auction in New York.
This violin was crafted in 1714 by renowned Italian luthier Antonio Stradivari. The auction took place at Sotheby’s in New York.
Previously owned by the New England Conservatory in Boston, the violin fetched a remarkable price. In 2011, another Stradivari violin, the “Lady Blunt,” was sold for $15.9 million, making it the most expensive musical instrument ever auctioned.
