Gilgit: Three people were killed and several others injured when two groups opened fire over a land dispute in Sultanabad village on the outskirts of Gilgit. Among the deceased is Ghulam Rasool, who used to guard and protect the snow leopard in Naltar Bala.
according to SSP Gilgit, Zahoor Ahmad, the incident took place due to a land dispute, resultingly firing with arms and ammunition between relatives in Sultan Abad Guludas. Three people were killed in the firing, while the injured on both sides have been taken to Gilgit regional headquarter hospital. SSP Gilgit said that injured people are also in custody of police. the people died have been identified as Ghulam Rasool 55, guard of snow leopard in upper Naltar and Jan Faqir ,50, while one not known. the injured people including one female of 75 years and a children aged 16 years. SSP said All the injured are in custody. one SMG has been seized and about 17 shell shells have also been seized from the incident. main culprit has also been arrested while rest of investigation is underway. Meanwhile according to hospital source the injured people are out of danger.
