103 Afghans Detained in Balochistan Over Human-Smuggling Attempt

Balochistan: 103 Afghans, Including Women and Children, Taken Into Custody

QUETTA: Security forces have detained 103 Afghan nationals, including women and children, during an operation against an alleged human-smuggling attempt in the Dana Sar bypass area of Balochistan’s Sherani district, according to security sources.

The detained Afghan nationals were reportedly attempting to travel to Europe through Pakistan and Iran with the assistance of human smugglers, sources said. They were handed over to the relevant police authorities for further legal proceedings.

103 Afghans Detained in Dana Sar

According to security sources, the operation was carried out in the Dana Sar area, where the group was intercepted during an alleged attempt at irregular movement.

Officials subsequently handed those taken into custody over to police for further action under the applicable law.

129 Afghan Nationals Detained in a Week

Security sources said the number of Afghan nationals detained in similar operations across the area has reached 129 during the past week.

Authorities have continued operations in border areas to prevent irregular movement and disrupt alleged human-smuggling activities. Security sources said measures were also being taken to maintain law and order and enforce regulations in border regions.
