ISLAMABAD, September 18, 2026: Around one million people have registered for the Prime Minister’s Petrol Relief Scheme, State Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima said, as payments to participating petrol stations have begun under the programme.
According to the details, 868 petrol stations received a combined payment of Rs. 12.2365 million for claims dated September 16. The Petrol Pump Owners Association said the full claimed amount for the 868 stations had been transferred to their respective accounts.
The payments are being made as part of the relief provided under the government’s petrol assistance programme.
Under the scheme, registered citizens are receiving petrol at a discount of up to Rs. 100 per litre. A digital system has been activated for registration and delivery of the subsidy, with eligible citizens across the country able to purchase petrol at the subsidised rate.
Authorities are also monitoring the distribution of the relief in real time to track transactions and ensure implementation of the scheme.
Shaza Fatima reiterated that registrations had reached around one million beneficiaries seeking to receive assistance under the Prime Minister’s Petrol Relief Scheme.
