UPPER DIR : A ony day seminar was held at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal Upper Dir. The seminar was organized by the district administration and the District Youth Officer of Upper Dir. The seminar’s topic was “The Role of Youth in Policy Making and Governance.”
The Resource persons, Dr. Afzal Muhammad and Pro-Vice Chancellor Abdul Khaliq Jan, SBBU addresing on the Semina participant on the said topic. Dr. Afzal emphasized that youth play a vital role in policy-making, as 64% of the country’s population consists of young people. He encouraged youth to participate in policy-making and other activities, stressing that they are an essential part of society and significant stakeholders ¹.
The seminar was attended by Assistant Commissioner Sheringal, Pro-Vice Chancellor Abdul Khaliq Jan, District Youth Officer Jahanzeb Pasha, and dozens of other youth and participants. The guest speakers, AC Sheringal and Pro-Vice Chancellor Abdul Khaliq Jan, advised the youth to acquire education and knowledge to serve their country better. They also encouraged the youth to counter negative propaganda against the country and contribute to its progress.
District Youth Officer Jahanzeb Pasha explained the “Ehsaas Youth Rozgar” program, which provides interest-free loans to youth for business purposes. The program offers loans ranging from 10 lakh to 50 lakh rupees, funded by the Akhuwat Foundation and the Bank of Khyber.
