Islamabad: Pakistan’s National Youth Convention 2024 was held at the Jinnah Convention Centre. Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the caretaker Prime Minister, attended as the chief guest. General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), was the guest of honor at the event.
While addressing the conference, the Caretaker Prime Minister stated, “We, as a Nation, have fought the menace of terrorism most valiantly, offering unparalleled sacrifices.” He praised the Armed Forces for their unwavering devotion and professionalism in combating the threat of terrorism. “Pakistan’s successes in war against terrorism would not have been possible without the participation and support of the youth which makes 65% of our population,” the prime minister said.
The Prime Minister emphasized that as responsible citizens of Pakistan, we must all reject and combat the nasty misinformation campaign waged by Pakistan’s opponents in recent years. Youth may play a positive role in dealing with this rising national security threat if they stay focused and fact-check all aspects using real information from official institutions rather than succumbing to misinformation.
During his speech at the conference, the COAS emphasized that Pakistan’s most valuable asset was its youth, and that all hope for a better future was linked to them.
The COAS conveyed a message of hope, urging the youth to avoid despair. He pointed to the youth’s historic role in Pakistan’s formation and progress, exhorting them to contribute to the nation’s growth via discipline, honest toil, and a true desire for knowledge.
COAS emphasized Pakistan’s power potential, demographic dividend, vast mineral resources, a creative workforce with IT literacy, and promising agricultural prospects. The COAS stressed the need of national unity and harmony in overcoming the country’s many problems.
COAS reviewed the nation’s sacrifices to combat the threat of terrorism and warned against the intrigues of Pakistan’s ill-wishers that contribute to excessive polarization within society.
There is no advancement without internal coherence. COAS referenced the holy Quran, Allama Iqbal, and Quaid e Azam extensively, encouraging young people to realize their full potential and serve the country to the best of their skills. COAS underlined the armed services’ resolve to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against all threats, with the help and support of the nation.
