Islamabad (from Zafran Awan) — The 15th KAKE Japanese Language Speech Contest took place at the Marriott Hotel Islamabad, hosted by the KAKE Educational Institute of Japan in partnership with the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan.

This year’s standout moment came from 15-year-old Wadia Fatima, a student at Roots Ivy International School, Islamabad, who was named the All-Pakistan Winner. She is set to represent Pakistan at the International Japanese Speech Contest in November, where participants from 11 countries will compete.

Her Excellency Ms. Ura Mamiko, Second Secretary at the Embassy of Japan, attended as chief guest and praised the students’ dedication to language learning. “It’s inspiring to see such enthusiasm for Japanese among Pakistani youth,” she remarked.

Out of 66 applicants nationwide, 24 finalists were selected to deliver speeches on the theme “My Dream.” The event highlighted the growing interest in Japanese language and culture among Pakistani students and underscored the role of educational exchange in strengthening bilateral ties.

Such contests not only celebrate linguistic talent but also foster a spirit of healthy competition and intellectual growth. By encouraging students to pursue excellence in foreign languages, initiatives like these help cultivate a vibrant learning environment and empower young Pakistanis to engage confidently on international platforms.
