SINJIANG: Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region saw a 62.33 percent increase in tourism revenue to 2.2 billion yuan (about $310 million) during the three-day Qingming Festival holiday season, according to official data.
According to the regional Department of Culture and Tourism, the region received 2.21 million tourists, an increase of 20.53 percent compared to last year.

During the festival, Xinjiang offers a variety of cultural and tourism activities using a diverse and innovative approach, including combining sightseeing with local traditions, sports, and fruit-picking activities, all aimed at attracting tourists to the region.
This measure aims to encourage the consumption of culture and tourism further, while not neglecting the vitality of the region’s cultural and tourism market.
