As humanity progresses, robots are increasingly replacing their creators in various fields. Be it education, healthcare, law, or commerce, these areas are gradually being handed over to robotic machines.
Recently, the fastest humanoid robot, capable of running, has been introduced. This humanoid robot is the world’s fastest two-legged machine for walking and running.
According to foreign media, the robot, which closely resembles a human, has been developed by the Chinese robotics company Robot Era and is named “Star One.” This unique robot can run at a speed of 8 miles per hour (approximately 13 kilometers per hour) and is capable of maintaining the same pace across all types of terrain.
Images and videos of “Star One” have gone viral on Chinese social media, showing it running in the Gobi Desert wearing sneakers. The robot stands 5.6 feet tall, equivalent to an average human height, weighs approximately 143 pounds, and can run at a speed of 3.6 meters per second.
This speed makes it the fastest running humanoid robot in the world, surpassing previous records set by Tesla’s Optimus, Boston Dynamics’ Atlas, and Unitree Robotics, all of which had a top speed of 3.3 meters per second.
What makes it the fastest two-legged robot in the world is the sneakers it is fitted with, reminiscent of ancient footwear used by humans.
In the video, the sneaker-wearing robot outpaces its “barefoot” counterpart, despite a slow start. The sneaker-equipped robot better navigated the challenging terrain of the Gobi Desert and gained a decisive lead.
