Women University Swabi, under the banner of the Youth Development Center, successfully organized an Anti-Corruption Seminar followed by an awareness walk. The event also marked the inauguration of the Peace Society Club.
Dr. Shams ul Hussain, Associate Professor from the Islamic Studies Department, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Ashfaq ur Rehman, Associate Professor and Head of the Political Science Department, delivered the welcome address. In his speech, he highlighted the pervasive nature of corruption in daily life and emphasized the need for collective efforts to combat it.
Waseem Khattak, Head of the Journalism Department and Additional Director of Public Relations, along with Miss Faryal, Deputy Director of the Youth Development Center, Miss Maryana, and Dr. Alia, were also present at the event.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Shams ul Hussain underscored the importance of fostering ethical values in society. He stated, “Corruption is not just about financial misconduct; it erodes trust, justice, and the foundations of a nation. To eliminate it, we must begin by correcting our own actions and behavior.” He further emphasized the role of youth in leading this change, saying, “The younger generation is the torchbearer of our future. If they commit to integrity and accountability today, they can reshape the destiny of Pakistan.”
He concluded by urging participants to take small, individual steps toward transparency, as collective progress begins with personal responsibility.
The event concluded with a walk to raise awareness about the damaging effects of corruption, encouraging participants to take personal responsibility in building a transparent and corruption-free society.
