MARDAN: Commissioner Mardan Division Nisar Ahmed inaugurated Women Sports Gala at University College for Women Mardan On Tuesday . Teams from different girls’ schools and colleges from Mardan and Nowshera are participating in this sports gala organized in collaboration with District Sports Office. College Principal Zahida Parveen welcomed Commissioner Mardan Nisar Ahmed and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Azmatullah Wazir. On this occasion, the culture of the four provinces and Gilgit-Baltistan was highlighted by the students of the college. While different teams presented parade. Commissioner Mardan Division Nisar Ahmad said in his address that the provincial government is taking practical steps to promote sports and special attention is being given to sports activities for women. He appreciated the role played by District Sports Office and University College for Women for organizing Women Sports Gala in Mardan.Commissioner Mardan announced a grant of Rs one lakh for the organizers of the Sports Gala. Earlier, Commissioner Mardan along with Deputy Commissioner cut the ribbon and inaugurated the sports gala on this occasion pigeons and balloons were released in the air. College Principal Madam Zahida Parveen presented shields to Commissioner Mardan and Deputy Commissioner. Commissioner Mardan also inspected the art stalls set up by Home Economics Department of University College.
