Renowned Indian comedian and actor Sunil Pal has shared the full account of his kidnapping.
According to Indian media reports, news of Sunil Pal’s sudden disappearance had surfaced a few days ago, but the police traced him and contacted him, bringing him safely back home.
After returning home, Sunil addressed his fans in a video shared on social media, saying, “I was kidnapped on December 2 from New Delhi, but now I’m safely back at home. I have given my statement to the police, and once the investigation is complete, I will share more details.”
In an interview with Indian media, Sunil Pal said, “I am extremely scared; those 24 hours were the worst of my life. It will take me a long time to forget this incident.”
He explained that he had been invited to perform at a private birthday event and was paid 50% of the amount in advance. He was sent a car to the airport, but an hour later, he was transferred to another vehicle, marking the beginning of what turned out to be a nightmare.
Sunil said, “They told me I had been kidnapped. With a blindfold on, they took me somewhere. There were 7 to 8 people shouting at me, and they put my life in danger.”
According to the comedian, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of 2 million rupees. He then called his friends in Mumbai, asking them to gather the money. Later, he paid the kidnappers 7 to 8 lakh rupees.
Sunil further said, “The police asked me to file a case, but I’m still in shock. I don’t know whether I will file a case or not. The kidnappers didn’t threaten me, but they told me that if I took any action against them, they would harm my family.”
The comedian and actor revealed that the kidnappers left him at a bus station and gave him only 20,000 rupees to return home.
