WANA: For the first time in the history of Lower South Waziristan district, the foundation stone of Sophia Noor Girls Academy Wana was laid with the support of (WAWA) Wana Welfare Association.
The foundation stone of the academy was laid by South Waziristan Additional Deputy Commissioner Lower Kashmir Khan and WAWA President Rehmatullah Wazir.
On this occasion, apart from tribal elders, youth and local leaders of various political parties, a large number of people from different walks of life attended the inauguration ceremony.
It must be noted that Wana is, however, the only unfortunate area where girls’ education is almost non-existent.

He said that her other classes would also be started soon so that the girls’ education would not go in vain.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Lower South Waziristan Commissioner Khan said that WAWA’s services are not only commendable but WAWA is also the name of growth and prosperity.
He said that it is the luck of Wana that there is such an organization in the form of WAWA for the people here, which only talks about the betterment and education of the people of Lower Waziristan.
He said there is more awareness among people compared to the merged districts because WAWA has done a lot of work to make people smarter.
