Dhudial – In light of the directives from the Election Commission of Pakistan, the monthly meeting of the Voter Education Committee was held at the office of the District Election Commissioner under the chairmanship of District Election Commissioner Tauqeer Iqbal. Various stakeholders and members of the Voter Education Committee attended the meeting.
During the session, participants were briefed on the issuance of identity cards and voter registration for transgender individuals. Emphasis was placed on ensuring their voter registration so they could exercise their right to vote. The attendees suggested that efforts should be made to encourage transgender individuals to register as voters. By implementing these measures, their inclusion in the voter lists could be ensured.
It was unanimously decided that representatives of the transgender community would be contacted, and their assistance would be sought to achieve these objectives.
